In 1972 the dreams of Gottlieb and Lotte Burits were realized when they opened their restaurant, the Austrian Village. Bringing to the table her talent in the kitchen, Lotte, who was born in Geislingen/Steige in the foothills of the Schwaebischen Alps, kept the masses coming as she cooked from the heart and delighted all with her savory schnitzels, goulash, rouladen, spaetzle and her own secret recipe for German potato salad. Gottlieb, born in the small town of Grossmuerbisch, Burgenland, who took care of everything outside the kitchen, applied his charms and was ever present to welcome his guests and made sure they experienced a piece of the Austrian Village's Gemuetlichkeit. It wasn't unusual to find a bar full of people laughing and singing and a crowded dance floor complete with couples enjoying a polka, waltz or tango. Back in the day, Gottlieb would grab his accordion and start singing and soon find most of the patrons singing along.

The Austrain Village welcomed Chef Werner Lauinger, who hails from Eisenstadt, Austria in 1988. Educated and trained at Lande Berufschule, and specializing in Austrian and German cuisine, Chef Werner infuses every dish he creates with his expertise and passion for his culture. Be it German, Austrian, Hungarian or good old American home cooking, Chef Werner's creations are an infusion of passion and creativity and will have you coming back for more.

Today, the Austrian Village Restaurant offers an international menu and culture. Not only will you find your German favorites, but on special nights, you can also enjoy an Irish night with some Irish entrees and entertainment or your favorite rock and dance tunes.
